Why aren't there more storm shelters in Oklahoma?
Wed May 22, 2013
I think a good compromise between home shelters and community shelters would be neighborhood shelters. Every subdivision could have a shelter that the neighborhood Shares. Everyone would be able to walk, run or drive to it during a tornado warning because it would never be more than a couple blocks …

Should FBI manhunts use drones? US lawmakers debate
Fri May 17, 2013
I agree. I see a lot of good with drones, but there is also the opportunity for abuses - just as there is with every new technology. As for the question of whether drones that are monitoring traffic could be used in court when the camera picked up criminal activity - there's an easy answer to that. …

Banks to porn stars: Your money's not welcome

Risk management? The woman in the story opened a checking account, not a loan. Ok, so her career may be short-lived, but you can say the same thing for a McDonald's employee. You can't refuse a checking account because of concern that the person's job won't last more than a few years.
Restaurants fear tough drunk-driving law will be buzzkill for light drinkers

I completely agree with "if you're impaired don't drive." The problem is, with alcohol, you may not realize you're impaired. Sometimes, a friend has to tell you, or maybe you need evidence - like the BAC from a breathalizer to realize you shouldn't drive. I don't understand the comment "parents shou …
How to tell if the IRS is eyeing you
Fri May 17, 2013
In reply to: NJSteve #3.2 As I recall, when they did the math, just closing loopholes would not have generated enough tax revenue. And, the way things work in reality in congress, you can only get enough votes to close a loophole by offering to replace it with another. There is no end to looph …
Expect millions of electric car charging stations by 2020
Fri May 17, 2013
Maybe technology could help with that too. Maybe when you swap, it scans a barcode or checks the date of the battery you swap, or it's quality, so it either gives you a comparable one in trade, or you pay up or down if there are only better or lesser batteries available. Let's say a charge for …

5 unanswered questions about the IRS targeting of conservative groups
Mon May 13, 2013
I don't find it hard to believe. Using keywords is an easy shortcut. I can see how employees would figure that one out, and think it was harmless.

Is 12 too old to trick or treat?
17 or older (in costume!)
I agree, as long as the kids are well behaved. My teen girls have gone out trick or treating even though they are in high school. For them, it's nostalgic.
Little kids are just looking for free candy too! It's all about the fun, the crazy costumes, ringing neighbors' doorbells, and getting candy. It's a fun social event. Free candy is a huge part of it, at any age.
I would love to have an 80-year-old trick or treater! That would be awesome.
